Null Terminated

Positron16 · Revision 1.1.3.5 · PDF page 23

Null is a term used in computer languages for zero. So a null terminated string is a collection of ASCII characters followed by a zero in order to signify the end of characters. For example, the string of characters "Hello", would be stored as: -

"H", "e", "l", "l" ,"o", 0

Notice that the terminating null is the value 0 not the ASCII character "0".
