Supported EPD Driver Chips
On the low-cost market, you'll find EPD modules in many different sizes paired with a variety of driver ICs.
Some driver ICs support both Black-White and Black-White-Red/Yellow panels, others support only Black-White.
The models listed below are the ones I was able to obtain at a reasonable price and actually test.
Other modules using the same driver ICs should work too, but keep in mind that the library relies on the driver's built-in OTP settings, which aren't always ideal and may need fine-tuning — most often the Booster Soft Start Control register, if the black pixels render too strong or too pale.
If you run into this and need help finding the right values, let me know. Finer control over picture quality (more commands for tuning this directly) is planned as a future addition.
It's also worth knowing that a driver IC isn't always paired with a panel at its maximum supported resolution, and the panel's actual physical size doesn't always match what's advertised.
If an image doesn't fit correctly, you may need to adjust the size and offset values yourself to get it right — this is especially likely if the dimensions you're seeing aren't a multiple of 8, or are an odd number.
